Today, McAfee Anti-Virus incorrectly identified a crucial part of the FedEx Ship Manager Server as a virus. It is known to happen with McAfee DAT version 9596.0. However, it has not been isolated to only occur with this version. As a result, the identified file was removed and FedEx Ship Manager Server quit working; meaning FedEx rating and shipping is not possible. This impact was not isolated to ProShip.
It is recommended that you suspend DAT file updates and disable your McAfee Anti-Virus until McAfee and FedEx resolve their issue.
Users of any and all anti-virus solutions, please whitelist the folder “c:\FedEx” to prevent your AV solution from damaging your FedEx Ship Manager Server implementation.
If McAfee has already impacted your FedEx Ship Manager Server, please whitelist the folder “C:\FedEx” in your AV solution and contact your ProShip Account Manager to get your FedEx Ship Manager Server re-installed.
